The Blackler Sisters are a tale born out of almost myth – identical twin sisters, near sixty, unparalleled in their skill at adorning themselves with gewgaws and trinkets and glamour. The “gynomint twins” or the “Barbie sisters” as they were often called due to their profession and tanned, bleach blonde appearance respectively, caused a frenzy at every flea market they visited.
The sisters were avid collectors of novelty and comfort, favoring rhinestones and bears. Their flea market persona and extravagance in appearance belied their true nature; they were reclusive and private, preferring each others company to any others. In this way the sisters lived, and ultimately died. The Blackler sisters were discovered in their home, together in life as in death.
